Social Cues and Shyness

One of the areas that I have difficulty this weekend in my class was knowing the social cues when for meeting people when placed in novel situtation where learned scripts cannot be relied upon. Normally, my social skills are designed for mingling at parties, bars, or mixer-type events. In this class, the formal scripts that I use for formal social interaction does not work.

For example, I never asked out a coworker for lunch except for few times. The main reason is that I feel like an outsider and I am not familiar with social cues used when people go out for lunch.

I just do not know what social cues that I have to learn accomplish yesterday. Therefore, I think that I am going to pay to get this kind of help.
