Congressional Record

The next few months are going to be nuts on the Hill.    A lot of legislation could potentially influence our lives and businesses.   Relying on the papers and the media is good but there is something that you have.

The Congressional Record is the record of all of the bills introduced, floor speeches, and etc.     For example, when the massive stimulus bill comes up, the people would want to know what the real bill looks like.  You can read your stuff in the local paper but it is important to know what the lawmakers are really doing especially when it involves almost a trillion dollars in spending.

The Congressional Record is the place where you can find on the floor speeches about the stimulus bills and than see what amendments are made to the bill.   After seeing the full text of the stimulus bill, you can contact your local congressperson so you can provide suggestions that should be made to the bill.

With that much money being spent, the Congressional Record can be used as a tool for holding lawmakers accountable.  The link to the Congressional Record is found here
