Texas Justice Gone Haywire
Drunk drivers are bad. But there is a time when sentencing for drunk driving becomes excessive and a prison bed that should go to sexual predator is occupied by a drunk drivers.
In Texas, I saw a story where a man got a life sentence for a repeated drunk driving. A life sentence is only merited for sexual predators, three-time serious offenders (like a guy who has three separate charges of armed robbery), kidnappers, or murderers.
Stuff like this warrants my attention and I will actually donate money to prison advocacy groups in Texas who are trying to reform the sentencing schemes. I will not donate a lot but a token $10 dollar donation is my statement that I dislike Texas Justice.
(Note; This story is an example of Texas Justice gone haywire again. Guy gets 35-year sentence for DUI in Texas.)
Stuff
A lot of people deal with lifestyle inflation. Lifestyle inflation is increased spending with increased income. Which means you have to battle a war with stuff. Stuff
But with stuff, how much do you need stuff? Do stuff surve a useful purpose? It seems that people in my neckof wood (South OC) have an obession with stuff. You want to see a consumer culture. Drive to Mission Viejo where every tenth car is a Benz, Beamer, a Lexus, and other types of fancy cars.
But does these car really serve these people lifestyles? How this lifestyle inflation impact the person’s saving for retirement or for saving colleges.
These are questions that we all have to ask yourself in our life. How does lifestyle inflation impact us.
